Surrounded by tea estates and dense pine and
deodar forests, Palampur at a height of 1220 m is a small town
lying just 35 km from Kangra. Numerous tourist attractions,
which include angling opportunities in River Bundla, paragliding
and hang gliding and various secluded walks and trails, make
Palampur a destination which can be experienced at any time
of the year.
ACCESS
Nearest airport is at Kangra, 30 km. Pathankot (115 km) is the
nearest broad gauge railhead. Palampur is well connected by
road. It is 40 km from Dharmashala and just 18 km from Kangra

Neughal Khad : The Bundla gorge which turns the calm
stream into a magnificent fury during the monsoon.
Baynath (16 km) : Built in 804 A.D. Baynath is famed
for its temple dedicated to Shiva and contains one of the 12
jyotirlingas in the country.
Bir (35 km): is well known for its handicrafts and monasteries
as well as a landing ground for para/hang- gliders.
Billing : Noted as one of the best aerosport sites in
the world, Billing offers numerous opportunities for high altitude
flying. Billing is 14 km from Bir.
