DAY 01 ARRIVE DELHI
Arriving Delhi - The capital of India. Meet and Greet at the
Airport. Transfer to Hotel for check in. Break fast at the
hotel. Afternoon take a city tour of New Delhi & Old Delhi
visiting Qutub Minar, Humayun Tomb, India Gate, Parliament
House, President House, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Rajghat. Evening
witness "Sound & Light" show at Red Fort to get a glimpse
of the History of the Fort. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 02 DELHI / CHENNAI
After breakfast, morning free. Checkout at noon and transfer
to Railway Station to board the train for Chennai, formerly
known as Madras is the capital city of Tamil Nadu state and
is the fourth largest metro city in India. Chennai offers
a variety of sights by way of its lovely beaches - the Marina
Beach and Elliot's Beach among the popular ones. Overnight
on board.
DAY 03 CHENNAI
Breakfast on board. Upon arrival in the evening, transfer
to hotel and check in. Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 04 CHENNAI
After breakfast, full Day tour of Mahabalipuram & Kanchipuram.
Kanchipuram is the ancient capital of the Pallavas famous
as a city of 1000 Temples and still has 124 shrines. The first
temple dedicated to Shiva was built in the 7th and 8th century
and has paintings on the walls. Temples of Ekambaswara, Kailasanatha,
Sri Kamakshi and Varadarajaswamy are of interest. Kanchipuram
is also famous for its silks. The city of Mahabalipuram is
famous for the seven pagodas. Here on the seashore is an interesting
group of ancient rock hewn temples which are the examples
of Dravidian style of Architecture. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 05 CHENNAI / MADURAI
After breakfast, city tour of Chennai. Visit the Museum to
see the Art and Bronze Gallery. Drive through the Flower and
Fruit market, High court, Fort museum, Marina Beach, Santhome
Cathedral and Snake park . Check-out at noon from the hotel.
Late evening transfer to railway-station for overnight journey
to Madurai. Overnight on board.
DAY 06 MADURAI
Upon arrival, transfer to hotel and check in. Afternoon visit
the great Meenakshi Temple dedicated to the consort of Lord
Shiva. Later, visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace - A gracious
building in the Indo saracenic style, famous for the Stucco
work on its domes & arches. Further you can visit the Alagar
Hills and Tirupara Kundran Rock temple. Evening free and overnight
at hotel.
DAY 07 MADURAI / PERIYAR
After breakfast, drive to Periyar National Park. Upon arrival
check in at hotel. Periyar extends to 777 square kms & forms
part of the high mountain ranges, the Western Ghats. Wild
life can be seen while cruising on Periyar Lake in a motor
boat. Elephants, wild boar, sambar, tiger, leopard, wild dog,
langur monkeys, etc. can be seen easily. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 08 PERIYAR / KUMARAKOM
After breakfast, boat cruise in Periyar lake and enjoy the wild
life beauty. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 09 PERIYAR / KUMARAKOM
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive down to
Kumarakom, a bird sancturary of Vembanad Lake. Upon arrival,
check in at Houseboat to have the unique experience of backwaters
of Kerala. Overnight at Houseboat.
DAY 10 KUMARAKOM
After breakfast, visit the famous Cheriyapalli and Velliapalli
churches of Kottayam, a center of Syrian Christians. Evening
free and overnight at the houseboat.
DAY 11 KUMARAKOM / ALAPPUZHA ( ALLEPPEY )
After breakfast, check out from the houseboat and take a boat
cruise ( ferry service ) to Alappuzha, famous for enchanting
beauty of backwater of Kerala. Check in and overnight at Houseboat.
DAY 12 ALAPPUZHA / KOVALAM
After breakfast, check out and drive down to Kovalam viewing
the scenic beauty. The surf-fringed blue expanse, the golden
sand, the tall swaying palms all these make Kovalam an idyllic
tourist spot. Upon arrival check in and overnight at resort.
DAY 13 KOVALAM
After breakfast, day free for leisure at sea beach. Overnight
at resort.
DAY 14 KOVALAM / DELHI
After breakfast, day free to relax and enjoy the beautiful
sunny beach. Afternoon check out and transfer to Trivandram
Railway Station to board the train for Delhi. Overnight on
board.
DAY 15 DELHI
Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. Day free and at night transfer
to Delhi International Airport to connect the flight for onward
destination.
